Ghosts at the Stanley Hotel

I’m a great fan of Stephen King and just love to scare myself reading his novels and watching movies based on them I would love to go to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.. This is the place which inspired King to write his novel “The Shining”. I can tell you that having read the book and having seen the movie staying at this hotel would make my imagination run wild. However I would love it. This hotel has a long relationship with the world beyond. In 1911 a former housekeeper died at the Stanley and as they say you can’t keep a good worker down. She is still at the hotel and helps guests by unpacking their belongings. You can take a look at where it all happened in Room 217 which has become a hub of paranormal activity. The housekeeper was electrocuted during a lightning storm. Oh, yes and for those who have seen “The Shining” as you enter this room keep in mind the bathtub scene it should give you plenty of goose bumps. Staff members have reported seeing the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley in the hotel lobby. I bet they’re just checking up on their hotel. There have been sounds of children running and giggling down the halls on the fourth floor. You can sign up for the ghost adventure package at the hotel and stay in a haunted room on the fourth floor where the spooks are. You can also bring home some memorabilia such as a mug with REDRUM written on it. Look at the mug in a mirror and you’ll see it’s MURDER. Think about this trick of the mirror as you have a drink with some red rum at the bar at the Stanley. In fact, Jack Nicholson did such a great acting job in “The Shining” that I would expect at any moment to see his leering face saying “Heeer’s Johnny” and that would have me staying up even later than watching a late night show. Who has seen “The Shining”? Who would like to visit The Stanley Hotel?
