How do you deal with a boss that is very domineering?

Last week, we had an open forum in my office. I couldn't resist telling my boss that she is too much. I explained to her that she is doing more harm than good. Do you think what I did is wrong or right?

@KOLAMsegaran1 Thank you. I just don't know if she took it professionally. I told her that she is being unprofessional.

Isn't that what open forums are all about? If the ask for your opinion give it to them, but get ready to face the consequences too.

It is an open forum. I think everyone should be open to criticism and feedback to be more productive and have more harmonious relationships

@alymae well, anyone who attends an open forum should have an open mind. I hope your boss is also.

Indeed. But we don't know what will be her reaction. She might take it badly.

Many of those bosses have their problems. Insecurity, ego, fear etc.

Her problem was she always reprimands an employee without asking for the real situation and always with an audience. It shows that she doesn't have any respect for her employees.

That's an open forum so. It understandable that you said unexpected words. That's the use of it right? And if the job is really toxic then leave. But nowadays. It's hard to look for a job so might as well reconsider :). Ponder what you'll do.

I really do have to explain to her. I'm the only one who talked to her even though it was supposed to be an open forum. My coworkers were scared. I love my job so quitting is not on my choices. It is just the boss that I don't like.

I think what you did is right. If it's an open forum she should know the truth. You had a lot of courage to tell her that.

I told her in her face that she is being unprofessional.
