I have noticed that some people have stopped wearing real jewelry when they leave the house.
With so many thieves roaming around, they can snatch anything they think is valuable. And such does not only happen to poor countries but even to the developed ones.
In European countries, some of them, their main targets are asian tourists. They snatch their camera or any expensive gadgets, pickpocket them and the likes.
There is no safe place nowadays.
What about you? Do you still wear jewelry?

I wear my grandmother's necklace, but it is hidden under my coat and I am not afraid of wearing it outside the house. Street robberies are not very common here, it happens, but mostly in certain neighborhoods.

@Janet357 I am more worried about those things when I travel. I didn't experience anything of that kind when I was living in the UK, but it happened to other people I know. Even in Denmark some neighborhoods are unsafe, but I think that the thieves here are more interested in phones and cash.

I was never a jewelry man and so don't have any. But for those that do, it's good to be cautious.
When I was married, I did wear my wedding ring but that's as far as I went.

I live in a big country and we don't see any nasty things happening in my small town. I do wear my jewelry when i go out and have never worried about being targeted. It might happen in the bigger cities but Canada is a kind and nice place to live in...

I always wear real jewelry here, since I don’t go to areas that may be dangerous. My jewelry is insured, so they can have it if they want. Depending on where I travel, I may or may not wear jewelry at all. Rio de Janeiro was the worst place to wear any jewelry. The manager of the hotel told me to turn my necklace around and remove my watch, bracelets, and rings before we left to go out to dinner. He was right. A couple we met were robbed on the beach.

@Janet357 the news often says about snatchers, burglars, scammers, and their victims are those people who are innocent to petty crimes, like the senior citizens.

Even in New Zealand, the target of home thieves are Asians because thieves know that Asians, especially Filipinos, are fond of buying jewelry and gadgets.
