Weight Loss Diary Days 5 & 6

So I knew that Friday and Saturday were not going to do my diet any good as I had two big social events planned one where we were going for a Chinese meal and one where we were going for Indian food. I was good when we went for the Indian Meal, I didn't have a starter or Pudding, I only had one Poppadom, I had Badam Pasanda and Mushroom Rice. It was beautiful. I actually ended Friday within my Calorie limit so that was a success. Saturday on the other hand, when I went for a Chinese Meal I ate way to much, I showed Zero self control and I dread to think how many calories I consumed. I knew I wold wake up heavier this morning and I indeed have at 14 stone 5 this still means I have lost 2lb this week and hopefully if I get back on track today I will be able to add to that loss as tomorrows weigh in will be the 1 week mark. My goal is only 1.2lb per week so it will still be a success but I wish I shown a little more restraint yesterday :/

I try to eat healthy meals during weekdays but I find myself cheating on weekends

Your goal is not too far off from what experts say you should strive for when trying to permanently loose weight. They suggest a goal of 1 pound a week; if you lose too much weight at one time, it will be hard for your body to keep the weight off, or so they say. About 10 years ago when I decided I needed to lose weight, I set my goals a little differently. I didn't go by weight (I didn't want to become obsessed with checking my weight all the time), so my goal was to burn 500 extra calories per day through exercise.

This is a good method, I like to focus more on measurements in general but as I still can't train for a while I think checking the scale keeps me on track even if it isn't the best way to do it. I know that crash diets and quick weight loss won't work which is why I am only aiming for 1-2lb a week. It is my habits I need to change which needs to be permanent. Slowly Slowly :)

@Shellyjane How does the saying go? "Slow and steady wins the race." I think that's it!
