Prostitution should be decriminalized while pimping should be illegal. I don't see anything wrong about two adult people having sex with consent. The lives of sex workers are at risk because it is illegal so if they are getting killed they cannot tell the police/authorities. Leave the moral issues, judgmentalism in the Ethics classroom and churches.

In a way I agree yes and with them making it a crime to do that now I think they are making matters much worse. If two people want they want and should be allowed and not drive them underground or hound them its happening here also. There should be certain areas I reckon for that kind of thing also.

@yoalldudes I hope for a better place too. If they keep on doing what they are doing hounding these women so that they cannot work they will only cause more problems in the long run.

@yoalldudes I know what you mean and I just think that within reason they should be left in freedom and I donĀ“t know any other way to say it really.

I don't know very much about this. I think the person who organises these ladies is being illegal. The ladies of the night should be able to see the police or authorities if they are in harm or scared. Many young people are put into this work without wanting it. In Cambodia a 15 year old was told to sleep with man so her family had enough money to live. This night with the man ruined her life. She feels no other man wants her now. In Amsterdam there is a red light area where such ladies work.

If pimping is illegal the family should go to Jail, right. And she is a minor so it's statutory rape.

@yoalldudes I can't understand why her family did that to her. In the UK law they would go to jail. In Cambodia they haven't got the idea that the legal age isn't 15. In England the age is 16 years old.

@maximax8 It's not justified, but I guess because of poverty.

Interesting point you have in there. I think the government is doing it to dissuade everyone to practice this trade. I do not have any qualms if they will be decriminalised but I guess many would be persuaded to practice this for easy money and the trade might just get strengthened further and make the trade more bolder in society. I think that lawmakers should make it a point that though it is not criminal act but it still should not be encourage from practising it further as his/her chosen livelihood.

@yoalldudes Definitely when you loosen something that is not allowed before then it becomes abused by those that are into this trade. They would just be embolden to strengthen their trade. No matter you taxed them they will still find ways to avoid it. Even pimping will not be legalized they will find ways to make it looked legal in some ways.

That is my thoughts as well. Decriminalized but not encouraged. To discourage goods/services it is taxed lol. I dont know what is our President's view on this. But the church will give a strong fight.

@rsa101 It has not been looked into by lawmakers. A fellow myLotter said there is a red light in Davao. I am only aware of Subic.

It should be illegal!! This is a bad lifestyle that leads to disease, pain, murder, and psychological problems!!!
