My father was diagnosed with such. I don't know the name of the medication he took.

I've read that fatty liver in itself is not a major problem but can, in some cases, develop into other ailments. There seem to be natural remedies for it - organic apple cider vinegar is one and another is grape seed extract, which is known to be very good for your liver.

I don’t have experience with it. My doctor said I had a slightly fatty liver once. Then told me I had height triglycerides. He didn’t give me meds for that neither.
What he did do, much like your doctor, is tell me to cut out foods. (Bread, sugar, alchohol, rice, and potatoes). Result, lost enough wait that my sister cried asking if I had the big C and the next time I went to see the doctor (and after some blood work) he said I was normal again.
I say, do what your doctor says and be thankful for not having to to take pills to fix it. Pills suck, your body gets hooked, and in some cases you were better off with out them.
I suggest that you go for less fatty mean. Fish, chicken, veal, they are much better for you. Then again I’m not a doctor just a Bigfoot

A ketogenic diet has been proven to help with fatty liver. The diet will help you in reducing the symptoms and recovering from the damage fatty liver has caused to your body and even help to keep you healthy. It's more of a lifestyle than a diet. I got diagnosed with celiac and it helped me recover in less than 2 months. It works very well.
