Update on Junkyard dog.

Hello again,
The junk yard dog that I bathed last week was brought over to my house last night. The owner of the dog no longer lets him go out to the cars, because he doesn't want him to get dirty. The owner was concerned that his paws were getting too cracked. I looked at them and told the owner that I am not a vet, that I just will groom a dog or cat that needs it. The dogs paws were cracked, most likely from walking through miles of junked cars in mud and gravel. Since he is an inside dog now, I put some medicated Vaseline on his paws, and gave the container to the owner. Told the owner to take the dog to the vets for shots, deworming and to check his feet. They agreed. I feel that one rather taken for granted dog has been saved by a bath. Now they treat him like a mascot rather than a nuisance that roams the junk cars. I did stop by the other day, and he was inside and not in the weather. He was sleeping on the floor on a blanket where the customers were, so no one is worried about him being the typical junk yard dog. I will give him a bath anytime, and told the owner to bring him by every two weeks. He replaced a weak alternator in my pathfinder for free in return. Things work out in strange ways if one is only willing to follow the trails...
Best,
Joe

Dogs don't like water so they try to run away from taking bath. But I think everyday bath is very essential.

I'm so glad you were able to help by giving him a bath. :) I bet he's much happier now.

That is a wonderful example of the barter system, if more of us could do that we might be able to defeat that notion that money is everything.

That was a win-win for everyone. Thank you for helping the innocent dog.
