Wet or Frozen, What Will Tomorrow Be

It has been raining a steady cold rain all day since sunrise. The light dusting of snow we had this morning has been washed away. The question folks around here are asking now is, "Will the roads freeze tonight or will they stay wet but otherwise safe to drive on?"
I feel confident that I will be able to go to school and teach tomorrow. However, it is looking iffy as to whether my missus will be able to travel to her job. It is 33 miles north of here and much more snow fell up that way. She may wind up working from home.
A few minutes ago, in the midst of all this wintery weather, we heard thunder. A moment later I received a lightning strike notification. Lightning hit about 20 miles east of here. It sure has been one crazy weather day around here.
If you were in the path of Diego, is it still snowing, raining, sleeting where you are? How much did you get?

@DWDavis Highway does help as long as everyone drives like they have some sense.

@wolfgirl569 When the conditions are like this, I always leave even more room between me and the other drivers.

No, but it's windy.
Isn't thunder during winter suppose to be a harbinger of more to come?
Also, I am sure it will freeze. Tell your missus to stay home and work from home. Too dangerous out there.

Her plant manager is holding a staff conference call in about 5 minutes to decide about opening the plant in the morning. The plant is about 30 miles north-northwest of here and that area got much more snow.
We are getting a lot of wind now, too, and it is still raining.

@DWDavis One of my friends works at a place in High Point. She works second, and she never works weekends. People on other shifts were all having to go in only to turn back around and go home.
It's calm and quiet out there now. Also very cold.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The rain is coming to an end here but the winds have picked up quite a bit. Our wind chill is down to 24F (-3C)

No question here, it will be snowy. It's cold too,,so I don't think much melting will occur. The ground isn't frozen..so maybe alittle radiant heating that is all.

We were just outside the area that got all the snow, fortunately. Just a few miles north of here or a few miles west and they got anywhere from a few inches to nearly a foot. Some locations much farther west got over a foot.
I'll take the nice rain, as long as it doesn't freeze.

We aren't getting anything like that. It was 32° (much colder with the wind chill) on Friday, but otherwise, it's been fairly nice here. Stay safe!

The weather here has been very cold and sunny, they say we have a storm heading in next week and it's not showing on the weather channel but this thing I watch that talks about what the weather is going to bring.

During the day there was a sun, now the rain is falling. And they announce the snow in two days.
