Clean up, fix up, put up

I finally used up those over ripe bananas, without adding them to my stash in the freezer. I used one and made banana pancakes. Three others went into the banana muffins. I made forty two small muffins. I also made cornbread to go with the beans that I took out of the freezer. The trash is all out for tomorrow, plus I washed one of the trash cans as the plastic liner had a leak and it got yucky. So, even though we have eaten leftovers today, I have lots of dishes. I still have to clean up, fix up, and put up the dishes. I also moved some things to the sewing room, repaired a small lamp shade, put ribbons on some decorative bells for my front door to be holiday seasonal. There seems to always be plenty to do.

I often put them in smoothies, but the antibiotic hubby was on said "no dairy" and my smoothies are made with yogurt.

@Tina30219 He is done with that antibiotic now. I bet bananas frozen and blended with orange juice would be yummy.

@GardenGerty try orange juice I have heard of them being made with it and being pretty good. Have you tried almond milk? Also if you would like to find ways to make smoothies without dairy check out Pinterest they have tons of them

I did that when the weather was warmer. The freezer is still full, but I am at least rotating some of the older stuff out before adding new.

@responsiveme I looked online, and saw some pithas that look like pancakes and others that look like beautiful shaped rolls. Thanks for sharing.

That's why I never buy more than two bananas at a time -- they get too ripe too quickly.

@BarBaraPrz I am not either. He has since discovered that a glass of V8 also stops the muscle cramps. That is why he ate two bananas a day.

@rebelann You are right, cooking is a hobby, at least at times. It probably would not be if I lived alone, though.

Not the dishes but fixing things reminds me of a friend who like to tinker around with things to make the work again and I always thought of cooking as a hobby @GardenGerty maybe I'm weird, who knows

Every time that we complete something, there is something new that comes up and needs our attention. I also made muffins yesterday. Today I am going to make a big stew, several more portions of what we need.

I made a turkey stew today. I cooked and froze a whole turkey right after our Thanksgiving. I made a dish seasoned like chicken putanesca out of turkey last week.

@GardenGerty I often make Spaghetti alla puttanesca, it's spicy and my husband likes a lot. Puttanesca should be flagged as "bad word", but the English dictionary does not know the meanining.

That's a lot of muffins It's my son's Christmas party at nursery on Thursday and he's allergic to wheat, dairy, egg, soya, and a few other things, so I'll be making some banana-based muffins for him to take in with him I've been saving up my bananas to make sure they're overripe, it takes ages for them to go brown!

If you put your bananas in a bag with apples it speeds the ripening. You must have learned a lot of new cooking techniques. One of my friends was dianosed with those allergies plus some outdoor stuff in her forties.

I loved reading what you has happened to you and what you have done :-) It makes me wanna go to the kitchen and look around once again what I might have missed out. I love being busy myself, rotating things, adding to what already has been thawed and check what is in the deep freezer and think what I might be able to combine with it for next day's lunch or today's dinner. I love banana bread but I am not sure if you are a little bit crazy about cinnamon? I love cinnamon but I don't put a lot because it might over power the flavor of the banana and I wouldn't like that to happen.
