Costa Rica is a big tourist area. Have you ever been there? Do you plan to go someday?

The planes are always full of tourists when I fly there. Costa Rica has something for everybody. There is fishing for the fishermen, surfing for the serious surfers, rain forests and all kinds of exotic animals for the hikers and nature lovers, and beautiful beaches for the swimmers. There are four-wheeler excursions, whitewater rafting, and canopy tours. I am sure I have probably missed some things. It is just a really nice get-away vacation. Many people fall in love with it and make plans to retire there. I guess you can tell that I love it there. So what are your thoughts?

Coasta Rica haven't heard the place. To be honest with you, this is my first time to hear the place. I am from the Philippines and maybe that's the reason. Costa Rica must be in America. South I am guessing. Having said this, NO! I haven't been in Costa Rica. Well, if you will invite me to go there I'll go someday hehehe..but I hope I win the lotto first so I can afford the expenses lol.

Costa Rica is in Central America which is the smaller land area connecting North America and South America. I visit there once or twice a year. I also live in Central America in the country of Nicaragua, just north of Costa Rica. If you decide ever to come you can look me up. Oh yes, after you win the lotto. :o)

Seeing videos or TV programs is about the next best thing except you don't get to experience the people and the culture. Last year on segment of The Amazing Race was filmed in Costa Rica and I had to those same places but I was a little jealous because they got to do some kind of local pottery painting or something like that. A couple of weeks ago I saw a show on an American TV network showing some people on a four-wheeling excursion in Costa Rica. Also Jurassic Park was filmed in the mountains of Costa Rica but I don't think the movie made it look as beautiful as it is.

I've never been to Costa Rica, but my sister lived in San Jose for a year and absolutely loved it. I also have a brother-in-law who visited there, then retired there, and he swears it's the best place on earth to live. He loves the people there and all the things that are available, but especially all the fresh fish and fruit he gets.

I have two step-sons and their families living in San Jose and it is a wonderful place to live. My husband and I chose Nicaragua which is on up the coast and is the same scenery wise but much less expensive and commercialized, but a little less stable. But the fish and fresh fruits, there are so many varieties, and the fresh vegetables year round is wonderful.

I have not been, but would love to go there. I wrote my master's thesis on Belize. I would also very much like to see Machu Pichu in Peru and visit Bolivia.
I am part native american (north american native americans) but I have always felt a connection to these areas of the world that I can't quite explain.

I have never been to Belize but we have flown over it several times flying to Costa Rica and Nicaragua and the plane was low enough a couple of times that I could see the beach and the water and it was such a beautiful sight. The white sand beaches and turquoise water seemed to be endless. I met a lady once from Peru. She later married an acquaintance of mine. I believe she is back in Peru now. I, too, find Peru and Bolivia fascinating but I have never been there.

I went and loved it! It is my favorite travel destinations. I would love to go back some day. I lived there for 3 months, but had to come back since I was running out of money and it was very hard to find a job there. Pura Vida!

You know, I can honestly say that I know nothing about Costa Rica, and I've never even thought about ever going there. I didn't realize it was such a big tourist spot. Maybe I should add it to my list of places I'd like to see before I die.

Hey Sbeauty, It's in Central America, north of Panama and south of Nicaragua. It is warm year round. I have two step sons that live in Costa Rica so I go every once in a while to see them and I usually try to check out some tourist spot while I am there, although most of them are quite a distance from San Jose where they live. Actually, Nicaragua is very similar scenery-wise but it is less traveled because only the very brave dare to check it out. :0)

I had an opportunity to visit this beautiful place several years ago but a conflict arose and the trip was canceled. I did meet a very nice and wealthy man from Costa Rico, he was selling land in the most beautiful area. I was talking to him and was even considering purchasing one of the chalets from him, but I did not have the funds at the time and now I do not know if the land and chalets are still for sale or if there are any left to purchase. If I get the opportunity again I think I will do everything in power to visit.

I have heard great things as well, but it is not on my priority list of places to go because although I love beach destinations, I prefer to lie around by the pool/beach and just relax. I probably wouldn't get as much out of it as others who would really take advantage of all the adventure activities. I personally love Cancun for the nightlife.

Costa Rica is a long way from where I live (United Kingdom) so I have not had the opportunity to visit. I have no immediate plans to visit the country, but I would certainly never think of turning down the opportunity if it arose.
I cannot think of a single country on the planet that I would not like to visit sometime.
