First garden...

Over the summer I decided i wanted to start a vegetable garden. My first garden ever so I wasn't to sure how to go about it. I was basing everything on common knowledge and a few things I've picked up a long the way. Only a few things made it. I got a handful of green beans, a few tomatoes, and some peppers. Most everything died off except my watermelon which were going strong. I was really hoping for a watermelon or two to survive. But something always happened and they would die. Well when i thought all was over with my garden, I let the weeds take over until i had a chance to prepare the ground for next year. My father-in-law came to us weeks later and asked if i know i had a watermelon growing. I guess somewhere under all those weeds was a nice little watermelon. And it was the sweetest thing.
