Trump's former personal attorney was sentenced to 36 months in prison this morning. That was less than the 51 to 60 months (4-5 years) that the judge calculated that his crimes had him eligible for. The Southern District of New York was pretty harsh on him in the sentencing report filed last week but Special Counsel Mueller's cited his cooperation and asked for "extreme leniency". Cohen also must pay over $1 million in restitution. He will report to a federal prison in upstate New York on March 6. Cohen plead guilty to tax fraud, false statements, and campaign finance violations. The last one--campaign finance violations--is the *biggest* topic in this news because it has to do with the payments that were made to Stormy Daniels and Karen MacDougal to keep them quiet about affairs that they had with Donald Trump. Those hush money payments were to buy their silence so that news of the affairs wouldn't impact the election. . . and they were done at the direction of Trump. He is now implicated in 2 felonies and that is just that we know of. Experts are talking about impeachment and indictment. . . and this doesn't even touch on the Russia stuff, the obstruction of justice stuff, or anything that the SDNY has on the Trump Organization. Rumor has it that Trump never even left the White House Residence today to go down to the Oval Office to work. Perhaps he is preoccupied?

I read that he is going to continue working with Mueller in the hope that his sentence will be reduced.
