Recommend me new authors

I am an avid reader and am always looking for new authors to read. This year I discovered China Mieville and have been working my way through his back catalogue for the last few months. Do any of you have any recommended new authors (ie 21st century) that I need to check out?

Anything really, I am pretty wide in my tastes but just need something new and interesting to discover.

@responsiveme - thanks for that, I've read most of John Le Carrie, will bear FF in mind. As the post said I am really looking for authors who have come through more recently but thanks for the recommendations.
