ive got glasses since the forth grade and i hate them - how they look, how helpless and blind i am without them and how much money i spend on them or on eye contact.
even so, there are a lot of risks to this surgery so im still conflicting.
what do you think?

I have heard that if your eyes are particularly bad then the success rate is lower. I also heard that some people still have to wear glasses afterwards, albeit of a lower prescription. I think for some people it provides complete freedom. I would love to have it done as I literally can't do so many things like I can't swim unless I wear my glasses which is very inconvenient. I can't wear lenses all day so I can't be on the road all day or working all day in contact lenses.

I knew a lady that had the eye surgery and she was told to stay out of sunshine. Her eyes felt dry and she was uncomfortable with her eyes even though her sight improved. I got poorer eye sight at age 10 and by the time I was 20 to 21 years old I didn't like wearing glasses. I was travelling in Australia. I could wear prescription sunglasses in the day time. However in the evening I would have to put on a pair of prescription glasses. It made me feel like 4 eyes. So I went to the optician and asked for contact lenses. She sold me packs of soft contact lenses. They were put in an eye pot at night time. They lasted for 2 weeks before I would open a new pair. When I went home to England I had contact lenses that would last for 4 weeks and had them cleaned in the night time. I had to contact lenses cleaning solution. With my travels I thought daily disposable contact lenses would suit me. Planes have liquid rules for hand luggage you see. I found one brand that is affordable. I order three months supply each time I need to.

I never go through any eye surgery but my father did it as well as my hubby during his childhood days. Both of them are okay now with their glasses.
