Still haven't figured out how to reach minimum payout in one month

This site is of course for interacting, not for making money. But we do earn so we are in fact making money, just not a lot of it.
The ideal goal for people who set goals is to at least reach payout every month, though there are people who aim for higher earnings.
Supposedly, that's easy to do and on a regular basis. Hasn't been the case with me.
Now I don't set earnings goals but I wouldn't mind getting $5 every month. At the very least I'd like to get $5 in a month's time at least once.
Still haven't figured out how to make that happen... Wonder what I am missing here...
On another site I am on (HubPages) the minimum payout is $50. I never reach that in one month but I always surpass the $5 mark and without being active... Now that's passive income I get for the work I already have on the site. And that's awesome - to sit back and watch the pennies or dollars roll in, though it's not a lot by any means.
Oh well, I am just happy I am able to earn here (and on HubPages), regardless of how long it takes to reach the minimum or how small the total amount is.
I really enjoy interacting and sharing my thoughts with others. And I feel welcome here. That's the most important thing. That's something money can't buy.

In this site you don´t receive money for your posts. But if I read your post, like it and still better, comment it, you get money. Then, if you answer my comment, whatever I do will mean money to you.
When I´m here during the whole month, I usually make over $10. If I go out and don´t relate with people (interact) I don´t get paid much.
Some people start knowing you, liking your responses and comments and they will start following you.
Luck! I have been interacting with you lately. You´ll get there.

I know that posting discussions doesn't earn us anything. I usually do one discussion a day, sometimes two or three. And I respond to other people's discussions and I reply to things left on my discussions. I don't time myself on how long I am doing this daily. And I don't keep count of how many responses/comments I make in a day. Wonder if it would change anything if I started doing that.

I think that you get money for people liking your post and commenting on it. I haven't checked out any money on My Lot yet this year. I have got around $8.60. If I send that to Pay Pal then the money will go into Pounds and it won't be very much money. I will ask for it when it has built up to more. My Lot is not easy money the joy in it is the interactions in discussions. I like that My Lot members are from lots of different countries.

if you want to let it build up to 10 or higher, just remove your paypal email address in your account settings here.

I guess then it makes sense for you to let it pile up before redeeming.

Yes, one has to earn 17 cents a day but it can take quite a few hours unless you are a fast reader, a fast thinker, a fast typist so tat one can can do a lot of them.

@hereandthere That's my problem too. I often read all the responses to see what different people have to say.

I know that around seventeen cents a day will get to $5 when the month is over. Most days in a month I don't reach that, even though it seems very small and easily reachable.

Seems I am here a bit longer than you. Thought you were one of the mylot oldies... People figure out what works for them and then they continue to put that to use. Guess you've found what works for you.

Earning around 17 cents a day is obvious. Making that happen isn't easy. Usually my daily earnings are way lower than that.

I haven't ever reached payout in one month either, but I guess I don't mind. It would be really nice to do so! I just don't have the time to come here every day and be super active. I just come in and every once and a while and see what's going on here. I like the interaction as well, but I'm not going to actively try and reach payout anymore. I've tried in the past, and I have failed. It's better just to have fun.

@lovebuglena I agree. I might try and get $5 this month after all, maybe I'll make it this time, since so many others can!

It should be about having fun, not becoming a mylot zombie sort of speak just to try and make five bucks when the month is over. As long as you reach that payout that's the important thing. It's just, if others can get there when the month is over, and on a regular basis, we should be able to do that as well. We are no different.

Same here Lena. Sometimes I come close and halfway to the goal, sometimes I barely make it. I'll make it by New Year's Eve since my account rolled over since October.

As long as you make it that's what matters. Though of course getting their faster is better.

So what have you been doing here so far. $5 is easier to make that 50. Do you write your own posts, Do you go into others posts and answer those or what do you do? How often are you on here?

I try to log on every day. Usually when I log on I post one discussion of my own. Sometimes more than one. I reply to anyone that responds or comments on my discussions or anything else I've posted on other people's discussions. And of course, I read other people's discussions and leave my reply. Sometimes I may leave a comment as well in a response thread.
$5 is easier to make than $50 of course. Though Mylot is different than HubPages it is still weird that I can never get $5 here in one month, yet on HubPages I always make that much and even way more than that and without being active.

@Hannihar I don't know who actually "follows" me. Generally I just go to the Hot Discussions, Most Recent Discussions, etc. and read and respond to those. It may happen to be by someone that does follow me. I have no idea. But I do end up reading and responding to stuff by people that read and respond to mine.

I make money from other things that pay me. I'm just around for the conversation. If I just so happen to make payout fine. Other than that I don't make making money on MyLot my first priority.

Good. It's not my first priority either. Though I'd be happier if I made payout faster than it takes me and preferably every month.

Hi Lena,
This is the first day I join myLot. Based on what I understand is that the payout will be based on the interaction with other people, so let mingle around and chat.
Hopefully all of us can get some extra money and meet friends too. Cheers!

Here anything you post (discussion, response, comment) earns you nothing. You earn when others leave a response or comment on your discussion or the response/comment you leave on someone else's discussion. You do have to interact to potentially earn something but your actions don't guarantee earnings as you won't earn anything unless someone responds back.

@Acefun You can be here as long as you want as long as you have fun and are not forcing yourself to be here a lot just for the potential money.

Thanks for the advise. I am still new to it.
That's is the system being designed but we should not take it too serious as the main source of income. We can occasionally come here and chit chat. If we reach the payout amount, then they we are lucky and can celebrate. Yeah.
Yet, I am not sure the minimum payout amount. Do you know about it?
