What a Cute Nut

I was sitting in a booth at a Mexican restaurant for lunch today, and Amyra (my niece) was sitting on the other side. All of a sudden she screams, "Woo hoo! Woo hoo!" and throws her hands up in the air. I look to the front of the restaurant and see three police officers entering. As they are seated in the back, Amyra insists we have to meet them. She has gotten her picture taken with police officers from five different counties. It's hilarious! She wants to be a police officer when she grows up.
Anyway, the officers were delighted with her. The other picture, the one not shown here, she crawled up on to the other officer's lap for the photo. Selfishly, I hope she wants to do something else some day just because I would be worried sick about her safety. She is such a doll.

she's adorable and i'm sure every police officer she met and will ever meet enjoys her sweetness and enthusiasm. but you're right, it would be a worrying career, same as those in the military.

@AmbiePam As a grandmother of a young man in the Navy as a Seal, I am always worried for him. He is my first grandson and will always be my "baby". There is nothing anyone can say as far as "don't worry". That just comes naturally and will always be that way until he is safely home.

Beautiful! She knows what she wants. She might change her wish to become a police one day. It is indeed scary out there and to think she will be a police officer is frightening for you. My son wanted to become a police, too but he changed his mind as he got older.

How wonderful that she has that enthusiasm. She will probably change her mind many times over the years but always looking towards that field in some capacity. She also might take a turn towards social work and the department of children and families or whatever it is called where you guys live. Your post has made my evening.

That is so cute. Maybe she can take a safe desk job in the Sheriff's office or something.

They both look pretty happy here in the picture. I'm sure that she made that officer's day.
I know what you mean about hoping that she doesn't get involved in that field of work.
But maybe she will divert slightly and take more of a social work role, perhaps a probation/parole officer job. That was the route our law-abiding son took and it has served him well.

That's the way all policepersons should be, friendly, approachable and a welcome sight in the neighbourhood.
