In day to day life, we women especially end up often having head congestion, bloating. Ayurveda says the three main energy system Vatt(Gas/Air), Pitta(Fire/Body Heat), Kapha(Water/cold) needs to be in balance for the wellness of a being. But when they are messed up, temporary/permanent discomfort or pain such as a headache, bloating, Indigestion occurs.
These days we tend to avoid a lot of vegetables, pulses or grain that causes bloating. I am also a sufferer of these doshas. But in recent days my mother insisted me to use Dry Ginger Powder to avoid bloating and to my surprise, it helps me a lot. I either add in the recipe while cooking or use it therapeutically.
1. While cooking add 1/4tsp of Dry Ginger Powder(Serves 2) upon the inclusion of vegetables or pulses that make you bloat(e.g: Peas, potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, any pulses(channa dal) etc;). Not on salads though.
2. As a medicine, mix 1 tsp of Dry Ginger Powder to water and make a thick paste. Apply it on the forehead during head congestion. (It dries out quickly, so wet it often). It gives a sign of relief though not quickly but slowly.
3. Also, Ghee can be applied in the forehead or on top of the skull, this also helps relieve from the head congestion
So ladies, before popping in the pills next time. Do try this Home Remedy.
Do share your go-to tips. what is your home remedy for any discomfort or pain?

I am lucky that for many years I don't have headaches. If I do it is usually due to a digestion problem and a mug of hot tea fixes that. I never use ginger.
