I do a lot of cover songs, but this one has been by far one of my best based on the responses I got from it. It took a few takes and multiple tracks, writing drums in a program, but all of the bass and guitar and singing is all me. It was so much fun, and I actually did an acoustic version of it a couple of years later. I am sharing it here because why the hell not? Green Day. Boulevard of Broken Dreams. My cover. I did this back in December 2004.
Recorded this in December 2004. Love Green Day, loved this song. I did this recording in multiple tracks using acoustic and electric guitar bits, and of course, as always, wrote the drums using Fruity

Oh, I really like this one. Well done. Is it the same song that David Cassidy sang because I always enjoy listening to that version.

Sounds good to me. Green Day used to share the stage with a friend of mine (a drummer) in Berkeley CA. He said they had that "cockiness" that told him they might make it big. Did you do all the parts?

Yeah, they wound up making it VERY big. Great band. Would have been cool to get to meet them. Yup, I did all the parts. The only part that's not me are the drums, but technically I wrote those into what I used at the time which was FruityLoops. Writing the drums probably takes the most time.

@porwest The sound better than when my music friend adds drums to his audios/videos. They sound too sterile--too much like a drum machine. I never use drums--have never tried to figure out the technology.

@TheHorse There IS something to be said about real, live drums to really make things pop. When I am writing my own music there are two things I wish I had help with. Drums and lyrics. But lyrics can be difficult to get help with since I prefer to write songs which are a bit dark and melancholy.

lol. Always glad when I have a "fan" or two out there. It IS a bit quiet in here. Maybe it's the fact that it's Christmas Eve. That's what I am going to go with.
