This guy right here has been my boyfriend for a little over a year now. He has been amazing so far and goes out of his way to do things for me and spend time with me. My family met him at my graduation in May and my dad was unsure of it at first because of the age difference (he just turned 44 & I am 22) but after meeting him he started to really like him. My sister and Mom love him. He is hilarious and contactly has everyone laughing.
Well, this year was going to be our first actual Christmas together since last Christmas I was still in college and was home while he was still in the mountains. Plus since we hadn't been together that long we decided to not celebrate Christmas last year and get each other gifts.
He is Jewish and I an not religious. We did Hanukkah together since it is earlier in the month. I bought him a new Kippah that he loved. I made some potato latkes and Sufganiyah for him. It was a great week.
I had some PTO time for work to take so I took it for Christmas and came home. My boyfriend had to work and wasn't going to be able to make it. Well on Christmas Eve he called me and told me he was in my front yard. We weren't home because we were having dinner with some family friends but we of course came home immediately when he called. He drove a four hour trip down the mountain after working all day so he could spend Christmas day with me and my family. He left this afternoon and drove back up so he could make it to work tomorrow. It was the the best gift/surprise that he gave me for Christmas. I was so excited to see him. I didn't realize I was going to miss him as much as I did. He brought our dog, Nova, with him. She was definitely more excited to see me than he was because she basically tackled me to give me kisses.
It meant a whole lot to me that he drove down basically just to spend the day with me because I wanted him there and he wanted to make me happy. I can say that no other boyfriend has ever done anything like that. My dad mentioned that he had to give it to my boyfriend because that shows he cares a lot for me because he knows my sister's boyfriend would never do that for her and his own son wouldn't do it for his girlfriend. My sister even stated that if her and her boyfriend spent Christmas apart she would just get a text message that said Merry Christmas.
Long story short I really like this one. Here is a selfie of us from today for y'all to enjoy.

He seems very thoughtful, both in little things and the big thing of finishing school. Age difference does not seem like much in the middle of your years. In your later years you may notice it. I know sometimes people say a degree does not necessarily get you a job, but what is looked at is whether or not you have had the self discipline to get it and that is huge.

Now a days for some jobs it doesn't even matter what the degree is in as long as you have one. I have spoken to people who live outside of the U.S and many have said that jobs there are looking for who stuck through to get the degree and not what it was in. Getting it shows dedication and hard work. In the U.S. it is more experienced based for some jobs but going to grad school will give me the experience I need/they require. Grad school for a lot of programs is a lot more hands on required instead of classroom time.

I hope we can last just as long. I spent 5 years in a relationship that was never going anywhere before I decided to leave. Sometimes I feel like I am going to fast now but sometimes waiting doesn't mean it'll work either. Sometimes we just know. I hope you have many more years with your partner as well.
