the backyard GRAPES

the grapes in my hand

I think I have forgotten including in a previous discussion that my mother cut some of the grapevine and planted it in our backyard. Ahh! I believe that is on Bubblews where I made posts about it. Anyway, the green grapes at our lawn are turning violet and soft now. The grapevine at the backyard is now ripe so I tried plucking it but my hand was unsteady so I asked my sister to pluck the grapes. Here it is. There are about 10 pieces of small and medium -sized soft and ripe violet grapes. I offered some to my son and sister, and I took some as well. At first, they tasted sour. But after the first bite of a small grape, we agreed the grapes taste sweet, in fact, it tastes like sweet wine. Tomorrow I will pluck out the grapes in front of the lawn. But the quantity is not even enough for a shot glass. Hahaha!

It's good that you're able to grow that in your backyard.

@ridingbet hahaha no, during the days, when a household has a grapevine, it is considered to be a mansion house. and you know. in mind , stereotyping, only mansion with hacienda has grapevines. but with those fruits .. oh yeah, he is indded rich

@Mavic123456 yes indeed, that was the perception of others when they have vineyard, like a TV series on ABS-CBN. my sister even kidded that we should sell the grapes to that family.

That is rare here in our country. I have a college classmate who has a vineyard in La Union I saw in the news. I think there is a strain/species (I dont know what to call it) that can grow in our soil and climate. What is the difference with imported ones?

i believe the vineyards in La Union are vast and bear many fruits/berries, maybe like bouquets. ours is just a small berry, now purple, and sometimes sweet. i have no idea what is the difference from local and imported grapes.

Really, violet grapes bear fruits in your place, they say its hard them to fruit. But green varie is easier to grow. There's nothing sweeter to taste the fruit of our plant that we planted.
