When Will You Take Down Your Christmas Tree and Decorations

Is Christmas over now that December 25th has come and gone? Or will you continue to enjoy the spirit of the holiday through the New Year?
As a child, my father waited until the last possible moment to get the tree. One year there weren't any left so he chopped the tree down from the side of the house. The long stump that remained was a reminder of that Christmas for years to come. However, the tree never came down until the last day of January.
I've carried on that tradition. Though my tree isn't real, and one year I took it down on Good Friday. I hate to see the holiday end.
So, are you busy taking down the tree and the decorations until next year? I can tell you, mine will be up for a while, and some decorations never come down.
The picture is Christmas past. Thanks for reading.

Last year I couldn't get all the decorations in the box when I undecorated the tree, so those are in strategic places around my living room giving it a great atmosphere. It's good to keep nice reminders of the season up through winter.

I leave snow man themed stuff up through the winter. I leave plain red decor out until after Valentine's Day.

I learned from my mum when I was a child take down Christmas decorations on the 12 night after Christmas and that would be 6th January 2019. I loved seeing my home decorated for Christmas and it was lovely to see my sisters house decorated so sweetly for Christmas. I am so happy to have my children help me pack away the Christmas trees and Christmas decorations on 6th January.

Great picture.
I like the idea of leaving the decorations up. It's a pain taking them down and then putting them back up.

@just4him I say, if it makes sense in December, it makes sense in June!

@oahuwriter I didn't know that tradition either. My family always kept it up to the end of January. I do the same.

I don't celebrate Christmas (because I'm Jewish) but I always put up a tree for New Years. My husband doesn't allow me to put up the tree until after Christmas is over. So, I just put mine up today. I don't plan on taking it down any time soon. I will keep it probably at least until end of January... If it weren't for him I'd have put up my tree around the beginning of December.

What is the reason you put up a tree? It's nice you keep it up to the end of January.

@just4him That's what we always did back in Belarus and even when we moved here. People from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, etc. always put up a tree in time for New Years.
