So how was everyone's Christmas?

What did everyone get up to on Christmas day? What did Santa get you?
I spent the day with my family. We all went over to my Aunty's place to have lunch. Was some really nice food. Kinda wish I had some of the leftovers now.
There were a few things that annoyed me but that pretty much happens on any regular day anyway. Christmas day makes no difference for some of my family members who like to have a "Let's pick on Danielle" moment. I can explain what I mean about this another time.
But in general it was a nice day but I'm honestly glad it's all over. Christmas seemed way more hectic this year for some reason. I really wasn't in the mood for it at all this year. I enjoyed wrapping presents and giving presents but otherwise I didn't care much for it this time.
But I would love to hear what you all got up to. Hope everyone had a great Christmas day!

@Beatburn Yeah it was very pretty and I regret not taking photos of the other side of the room as there were a lot of beautiful ornaments and lights.
Awwww! I love watching kids open their presents. I love watching all the enjoyment. I'm glad you had a great day! Sounds wonderful.

@maezee Yeah it is really amazing how much there is to do even if it's with a small group. And I'm the same as you. I am still grateful for the nice times but I'm so much more calm once it's all over and done with.

@AmbiePam Yeah those are the parts I enjoy the most. I like to see people's faces after they unwrap what I have given to them. I actually made my Aunty cry form the gift I got her lol Then I started crying. It wasn't cause she was made or upset with what I did. Was just something that touched her heart.
I am still wanting those leftovers lol

This was an unusual Christmas for me. It just seemed to creep up so fast, I felt I wasn't ready for it. Usually we go out and buy our tree right after Thanksgiving (towards the end of November), but it has been raining so much every weekend that it took forever for us to have a nice weekend day where we could go out to the Christmas tree lots and find the perfect tree. I didn't go overboard with presents this year, which is a first for me, because usually I spoil the kids with too much stuff. But they're getting older now, so I wanted to make sure to get them a few things they would truly appreciate. Overall, it was a very laid back and relaxing Christmas this year for us, but it sure came and went fast.

@moffittjc I think that's why I wasn't feeling it this year. Because like you said, it came by too quickly. I'm glad that it was still a good and relaxing Christmas for you either way.

I love that picture and the chair covers! I'm sorry you weren't into Christmas this year, but I'm happy you still had a good Christmas.
I had a wonderful Christmas with my children as I went to their homes. They didn't come to mine, so I don't have leftovers, the only downside. I painted rocks to give my children this year as finances were tighter than they've ever been, but it was a great Christmas. They all loved their rocks.

@VivaLaDani13 Thank you. Happy New Year to you too.
My kids loved their rocks. It proves to me you don't need expensive presents to make people happy. Give from the heart. It was one of my best Christmases ever.

@just4him I agree. I'm really wanting to make things this year for Christmas. I'm really over going to the stores and buying things. I'd rather make stuff to make it more personal. Even if it's just baking cookies or something.

It is such a hectic day when you wanted everyone to have some gifts or tokens to make them happy too! It was fun to be with the family.

@acelawrites That is true! It was also so chaotic in the shopping centres. Actually chaotic everywhere outside.
I'm glad you had a fun day!

It was a family gathering, my family. It was simple and informal but that's what we do together, eat, sing play and watch in the plaza.

@ilocosboy Hey I think Christmas day can be celebrated in any way. As long as everyone is having a good time, that's all that matters. It sounded like a great day to me!

@Courage7 oh no I am so sorry! I can tell you I know that feeling. I lost my mum when I was 16 so every occasion that came by was difficult. R.I.P to your mum and really hope you're getting some good support around you during this time.

Wow that looks great. I would love to be able to decorate like that for the Holiday , but with my grand kids well they get a little wild and crazy. Maybe someday..lol I have been so exhausted since everyone left ,I just can't seem to get back going again. My daughters both had to work and my son was house sitting for some friends so I had to do most all of the prep by myself . We had a good time with the kids though even though they were a bit on the wild side.

@jeanena lol that is a fair enough reason to not do it right now but yes, like you said maybe someday you can.
I'm sorry that you were pretty much the only one in charge of everything. I'm sure you did a wonderful job and I hope you can rest now that it's all over!
