well, as some of you know, her ear was hurting a bit the other day. So, I took her to the clinic, and we were given some medicine for her ear.
This morning, she was still complaining that her ear was still hurting. So, I took her to the clinic. Again. This time, the doctor looked and saw something in her ear. she saw some wax and something white, like swab or something. Now she has some ear drops.
Not too sure what happened, but apparently she can't quite catch a break. So, we'll use the drops for 5 days and then go back to the clinic. Not quite how I thought the holidays would go, but such is life. At least her ear is doing better. she was even saying can now hear in both ears. So, it's good news.

Like @amadeo said, they recommend not to use qtips in ears. And this is one of the reasons.
Which had happened to me just a few months ago. As the very top layer of the qtip stayed in my ear and made the wax built up so much that i was in alot of pain and had trouble hearing. Thankfully, the dr was able to get ir out by draining my ear, and it didnt do any damage like it couldve - by making a hole.
But i will say, I've been using qtips for most of my 26 years, and this is the only time I've ever had a problem. Thankfully. But ever since this happened, ive only used them maybe 3 times. And scared to use them at all.

@amadeo oh I never go deep. But that one layer of the swab still came off, and stayed in my ear for god knows how long. It was scary and very painful. I dont want to go through it again.
I almost damaged my cousins hearing as a kid. Playing house and using one to clean her ear. Got her eardrum.. but she was fine.

It's hard to figure out what is going on in the ear but glad to hear she's doing better.

@dodo19 That she is better is what counts! I remember taking my girls to the clinic a few times for ear infections. I am thankful I haven't had one for decades.

Same thing happened to my oldest son (3 sons and one daughter) . . he had to consult an ear doctor for irritable left ear and sudden poor hearing. Result - hardened earwax! blocked ear canal - - earwax removed . . . now he is fine.

I was explained what the medicine is, and it is supposed to do. The doctor could see wax and something else but wasn't 100% sure. I realize now that I should have done things a little differently. Asked a few more questions. I do have to go back in anyway, so I'll make a list.
