The good thing about having a well-stocked freezer

My husband asked me to get breakfast stuff for his tailgating adventure tomorrow--pork roll, eggs, sliced cheese, and rolls--when I went grocery shopping this morning. I did as asked. He just went out for a beer and called me asking me what kind of meat we had in the freezer. I asked for how many people? Apparently our friend's father picked up a ton of stuff for breakfast today so he asked my husband to bring some stuff for lunch. He doesn't want to go to the store so he was hoping that I had enough already on hand to spare him the trip. I told him I would look in the basement freezer and get back to him. I've been doing my best to clear out our kitchen freezer for the past month. I came up with 2 boxes of Omaha Steaks hamburgers and 2 packages of chicken wingettes. The rolls and cheese slices I got for the breakfast sandwiches will work for the burgers. As long as someone else is bringing something else to contribute for the grill, they should have plenty of food. It is good to have a well-stocked freezer. It is also good to be able to clear some stuff out of it.

A well stocked freezer comes in handy in more ways than one. But I DO like to make room in there just so I can always have the ability to take advantage of stuff on sale and save moula.

@dgobucks226 I always load up when I find a good price. I swear I have 20 bags of shredded cheese in there, probably about 5-10 pounds each of chicken and pork, 20+ bags of frozen veggies. I am nuts like that, but I do save a ton of money.

It is always good to have extras on hand. Glad it all worked out.

Yes it did. And my husband now has a ton of pork roll to eat.

I love it when the stored food comes in handy that way. It has saved me on the days/nights I didn't/couldn't shop.

I try not to keep it too full though. My sister lost a fridge/ freezer and another freezer's worth of stuff after Hurricane Sandy. She was like "that's $800 down the drain" and said she'd never have a second freezer again.

There's still a spiral ham, some ground turkey, and some frozen vegetables in there. Oh and the cannister for my ice cream maker.

And it is good to be able to have enough cash on hand to fill that freezer up once again Looks like you were able to make very good use of your freezer. Time for a refill
