I remember my dear Mother always making candy for the holidays. She stayed in the kitchen it seemed. Divinity was a a favorite (as was fudge, peanut butter fudge, peanut brittle, taffy, and the list goes on and on). She would often use food coloring and make the candy pink, green, yellow and white. Lots of fun for us kids.
I so enjoy going down memory lane. I am lucky to have her original recipe. I know we are not suppose to share recipes so I will give you a hint of what she used.
Sugar, white corn syrup, egg whites, pure vanilla, chopped pecans were the main ingredients.
Do you have a favorite memory to share? Ever had divinity candy?

When my Mom was living we always made different kinds of cookies for the holidays. M&M, "S" cookies, Toll-House Chocolate Chip brownies were are few we enjoyed making. Always enjoyed being her assistant A great memory for sure!

@CarolDM It is an Italian cookie. Here is a link to a site which explains a bit more about it and offers a recipe.
Great with my breakfast coffee!
I Remember my Grandmother and Mother making these cookies. Somewhere along the line I lost the recipe. I have tried to find a recipe with "that"taste I remember so well. Then I found "this"one and, for a moment, it not only brought back my childhood but my

Hi Carol. Your post brought back great memories for me. It was my grandmother who made the candy. I remember every single one on your list!

My family has made that kind, but I never tried it. I enjoyed the fudge, and peanut butter candy! I think sharing a recipe within a post is okay as long as the post is not just that (but maybe I am wrong). That's great to at least to list some of the things that are in it!

@CarolDM That's good to hear! And true....I'll probably just share a list and some tips on how to make something, without posting a full on recipe, just to be safe!

We used to love peanut butter fudge and made that often. I just made some in the microwave recently and it was so simple, plus it tastes great. Other than that..we didn't make a lot of home made candy when I was growing up.
