sunny side UP

Good morning on the last day of 2018. I woke up earliest among us 3; my sister came home last night at 10 minutes before midnight so she and my son are still asleep.
Since I saw that there is leftover rice, I thought of doing sunny side up for the 3 of us. From the fridge, I just laid the eggs out for 10 minutes and immediately fried them. The yolks were fine and so round and complete but the albumen (eggwhite) has some bubbles. Well, maybe because I immediately fried them while they were still cold from the fridge.
Can you make a perfect sunny side up?

Yes, most of the time it's perfect. At times they thought I didn't use oil but water.
My brother taught me how to do it.
But I prefer sunny side down so when it isn't perfect, it's mine coz I will flip it over. I don't mind if my yolk breaks.

If you use water, that is already poached egg hija. This is according to my sister.
My kid brother also prefers side down with the yolk completely fried

@ridingbet yup it looked like poached egg but it's fried...
My brother had a summer job in a resort here in my province when he was in college so he can buy an electric guitar. He learned how to fry perfect egg there.

hahaha! really? me, if the yolk is 'damaged', i just break it completely, as if it is a sunny behind the clouds side up.

I can do them now that I have good pans. And I always keep 6 eggs out of the friedge. I replace them when I use them so they are not cold.

i should do that. sometimes after bringing out 3 eggs from the fridge, i immediately fry them. that may be the reason why the egg whites had bubbles.
i also use the traditional frying pan and not the non-greasy pans.

i always place the yolk at the complete whole part of the spatula so it won't break.

maybe you use that frying pan that is non-sticky, am i right? i use the very typical and traditional frying pan that smokes when the oil is finally hot.

I love eggs made like this! I can never order them in a restaurant, though, because they never cook the whites all the way and they arrive slimy and disgusting.
I make my eggs by using a little water and a glass lid. Once the yolks glaze over a little (that shows me they are barely cooked) I flip them. If I time it right the whites will be completely cooked and the yolk will be hot and runny, perfect for dipping toast!
I was not aware that leaving eggs out to get to room temperature helped with cooking them--you mentioned using cold eggs and Marguicha's reply suggests that I should leave out what I intend to cook. I will try that next time!

i practiced it a long time and i can make a beautiful sunny side up when the eggs from the fridge stay longer outside at room temperature.

I can, although I call these "over easy." I LOVE them even if I prone to mostly make scrambled when I make eggs. But give me that runny yolk any time of the day. Nothing like taking a piece of toast and soaking it with all of that yellow goodness.

oh yes. that is why sometimes i take the broken yolk because it is good to dip bread in it.

same to you. it takes a lot of practice to maintain the yolk in full form, and the albumen without bubbles.
