FLAT spaghetti pasta

Last night when the 3 of us had the midnight meal (media noche), I noticed the spaghetti pasta was not highly colored yellow and round. Instead it was flat pasta. The sauce is as usual great- tasting and my sister did it. But the pasta was new to me. I asked my sister what the brand of the pasta was and she said our brother from UK brought the pack home. The pasta is best for vegetarians and vegans. It tastes good but it does not need reheating so the sauce has to be reheated when we eat the spaghetti. Have you eaten all the food you prepared last night? Not yet for us.

because we are only 3, we are now trying to finish the leftover food. the chicken macaroni salad and tropical fruit salad can stay in the freezer for longer periods of time, but the cake rolls, spaghetti, and the fruits have to be eaten first for fear of getting stale or rotten.

@ridingbet yes, that’s right. We need to eat first those foods that are easily rotten to avoid not to just throw them away.

@eliza_godinez12 i agree with you. it is really not good to throw away excess food not eaten.

I think that is Linguine... I don't think I have eat that very often. I do love Egg noodles which are kind of flat.. I like making them and then pouring a can of cream of chicken over them.. it tastes SO good!

We call this kind of pasta "linguine" and we always serve them with a basil pesto. It does not contain eggs, so it is white, same as the spaghetti, but slightly different texture.

@ridingbet I was sure those were Linguine. I have a packet in the house, but I have no fresh basil right now, I will eat when I have basil.

@LadyDuck do you just boil them? is it good to have them as spaghetti? i do not really know about this type of pasta until my sister showed me it is indeed a flat pasta.

This is a common style noodle used in dishes like fettuccini. I have used it for spaghetti before, but for that dish still prefer the round variety.

@ridingbet I made a batch of spaghetti the other day and for whatever reason the wife wanted penne noodles. I rarely ever use penne for spaghetti. But what the wife wants, the wife gets.

yes, i enjoyed it. there are still some left and we can just reheat the sauce and add grated cheese to make a good spaghetti meal.
