Are You A People Pleaser

We all know lots of famous sayings and they are famous or well known because often they contain a truth or a piece of wisdom. Yet it is amazing that even when we know something to be true or wise a lot of us continue to battle on trying anyway. For example one saying that most people will know is “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all the people all of the time” This is a quote by Poet John Lydgate but was made famous by Abraham Lincoln. So as true and as wise as this saying is, there are a lot of us that are still battling on to do just that. The being “To please all the people all the time. You would think we would learn lol... I am happy to say that these days I do much less of the people pleasing than I use to do. Though there are still times when I put others first because doing that actually makes me happy sometimes too.

Hello, it's nice to see you back. Happy New Year. I pleased my mother and my brother too much and I received nothing in exchange. Now that my mother is no more, I am changing attitude with my brother. I do not ask for "gratitude" but at least respect.

@LadyDuck Hi Anna it is nice to be back the funny thing about being valued and respected is how easily it is given to you when you don't look for it lol... Things changed for me the day I decided that I was going to stop doing things to please people and I was going to do what I wanted.

I stopped that years ago. I now please myself and when I am happy seems everyone else is happy, or maybe I am attaching happy people? Who knows. If we were all alike life would be a bore, don`t you think?

andria perry @andriaperry I found out too that when I please myself and I am happy with my choices and decisions then so does everyone else. I wish I had found this out earlier in life lol...
