Under the Boardwalk

This song was going through my mind today. Me, a girl used to Riga, Latvia and the harshness of the cold in January or the snows of New York City walking in delightful balmy weather on the 12th day of January to the beach. I tell you it never ceases to amaze me. The seagulls were flying in a sky of blue, the Atlantic Ocean was rolling in, people were sunbathing and swimming. Something I just cannot imagine in January but perhaps I’ll participate come April. So there I was just delighting in everything I saw. There was a delightful fountain where children were cooling off. In the photo, you can see the beach scene before me. I tried to capture some seagulls but they would have none of it. It seemed just like one big dream. Who would have thought that you could go to the beach and even sit under the boardwalk in January? Certainly not me. How is the weather where you are? I included the video of the song by Bette Midler which is a scene from the movie “Beaches”.
