What is you favorite meal to eat when it is cold outside? Something that warms you up? A food that your normally wouldn't eat on a hot day? For some it is chili, soup, stew or even oatmeal.
I usually make chili but since I had that a few weeks ago today it is beef stew. It is always nice to make a big crockpot of food on the weekend to enjoy through the week. It always seem to taste better the next day.

I definitely enjoy oatmeal, not so much chili or soup.

@florelway I'm allergic to seafood so I can't have anything like that.

Have you tried Champorado ( sweet chocolate rice porridge) with matching fried fish or dried fish? but dried fish is better.

@LadyDuck What does one call it when you cook carrots, potatoes, onions, and beef in a big pot, and there's delicious juice/gravy all around, and you soak up the extra broth with french or sourdough bread with butter or olive oil on it and...oh snap...I'm getting hungry! Is that a "pot roast"?

I love my crockpot and make soup at least once a week. During the cold winter months I tend to like hearty meals...meat, potatoes and vegetables.

I used to make food to have leftovers through the week, but I seem to be the only one that eats the leftovers anymore, so I'm making a change. Although, chili does sound good and I think I have all the ingredients. Maybe I'll make it next weekend and then take it to work through the week for my suppers.
I haven't pushed to eat my fresh veggies as early as I hoped to for that very reason, because it's cold and if I'm already cold then it used to be a push to eat them, but it's never too cold for a bit of ice cream.
I have been eating more celery, cut up broccoli and cauliflower and carrots these past few weeks trying to jump-start some type of positive movement on the scales, and by that I really mean negative movement.
I was going to have an outshine bar last night but resisted because I was already cold. So, yes the weather plays a part in my choices unless I have the upper hand.

@Happy2BeMe It's Thai chicken, mushroom and coconut milk soup. Really good on a cold night. Best to have rice with it or you'll wind up reading War and Peace in the bathroom.

@Happy2BeMe It's one of my favorite soups. I just order it from a nearby Thai restaurant when I'm feeling lazy (which is quite often).

I love hot soup with some fresh bread and butter. I recently had tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich and it was so good, though the soup was from a can.

I love soups on cold days. I add ramen noodles to it or put fresh veggies in the hot ramen soup and gobble it all up. Stews are good too and chowder on cold days for me.

You can save the packet of flavoring that comes with the ramen, and season the soup as you wish adding the noodles to the way you'd like to eat your noodles. Me I like my noodles just cooked so I add my noodles last minute. It's very cheap and so good. With plain ramen, I add all kinds of leafy veggies to make it a more nutritious version of noodle dish.
