One of the alleged ways to make yourself fall asleep is to count sheep. Nope, doesn't work for me! Apparently this works for many people but where I am (Scotland) it is now 2am and I'm still not sleepy. Thing is, my wife and I (who is sound asleep) must get up tomorrow at 7am to get to an appointment we have been waiting for for some time. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry you can't sleep. When I pray I'm so relaxed that I often fall asleep in the middle of praying! I hope you can find something that works for you. My daughter uses piano music to fall asleep, guess there are many things that work. I know there are nature sounds on YouTube and that works for some people too.

@ThreeTeddies Maybe reading a book? That's helped me too before.

I count to 100 in French but that doesn't always work either.

Those staring eyes! Make up a story, like you are going to write it. Pretty soon you'll be asleep.

@ThreeTeddies I wish I could help you but I have been trying to find my own way to fall asleep and so far everything I tried has not worked.

You have to change your body clock and avoid drinking coffee before bed time.
