Ruins Have A Story Of Their Own

There is something inherently romantic about an old ruin, especially one that dates as far back as the one in the image I have used for this post. At least, that is how I feel.
I like to wander about in the falls stones and wonder about those who lived here oh so many years ago. We the people who lived here happy? What was their life like? Did they struggle to get through each day, or were they one of the privileged ones who sat back and watched servants do all the work?
I found this image on Pixabay and I have already formed a picture in my mind of the people involved in this little piece of pat paradise. What comes to your mind when you look at this ruin?

That doesn't look like an old ruin to me, unless it just recently was destroyed like some of the ancient sites were by Isis in Syria, the crumbs would not remain there if it fell down years ago.

When we lived in Germany I loved looking at the old castle ruins.
