Where do you live, is it worth having a car?

Buying a car is a dream come true for millions of people around the world. Whether for a better ride, for fun or for any other reason.
However, by recognizing your financial reality (and also the financial reality of your country, since it inflates the prices of everything related to it) and your priorities... Is it really valid / important to have a car?

@WiseGhots you mean for the car.Well how do we expect to visit people and make trips.
Going to Boston an hour to drive and some other places. We have been driving for years.

Where I live, we have to have a car! It is a very rural area! Just to get to work, I drive about 45 minutes. There is no public transportation here. So, a car is necessary!

@WiseGhots It's not bad and gives me a chance to reflect and listen to some music! I've gotten used to it and at least it isn't in heavy traffic.

I do not live in town, its 30 minutes to the nearest hospital. I have to have a car to survive, to get to work and to get to shopping.
When I lived in town it did not matter if I had a car, I walked 2 blocks to the grocery store and could get a ride a few miles to the hospital.
If you want something bad enough you will work and save money and buy it, same with a car.

Yes, each person has their own reasons for having a car (even if the financial conditions are not the most favorable at the moment).

I had cars in the United States. I do not have a car here. I had a driver's license for awhile but now I drive a mobility scooter. I like it very much but not always easy to get in and out where I live.

I live in Jerusalem, Israel. I meant that cars may be in my way so cannot get up on top to go down where I can and go into the street and start on my way.

Yes, it is important for me to have a car. We have buses, but they don't run on Sunday. Without a car, I would need to figure out a way to church. I value my independence, so a car is necessary for me.
