I do, and I learned in school.
I was also a teacher and taught it. It is only now taught in grade 3. The students are taught how to make each letter for a few minutes each day and must practice with their parents at home. If they can sign their name, that's all that is important. Everything is now done on computers and teaching writing takes away from other important subjects.

@db20747 I have done a little bit of calligraphy.
They have always been Home schooled from day one so they really haven't wanted to go to school. Plus they have cousins that are badly bullied in school so they don't want to deal with that either.
They have friends at church and some friends that live a few miles away also. =) And they meet friends whenever we take a field trip or go to the park.

I do know how to write cursive and I am like you and think its crazy that they have eliminated it. Well I do know of one profession where you really do need to know how to write cursive : cake decorator. I guess that profession is going to SOL in the future haha

I did. Well I was forced to in highschool. there was this subject called "Handwriting" and my former teacher gave us the guidance how to practice on it, then she gave us hundreds of taks. At the end I wound up writing cursive style. I have received mixed opinions about it, some people like it, and some others just don't have a clue what my handwrting says. :(

@db20747 Not at all, what I meant was that some people don't understand when reading my writing. I wish I could invent my own cursive writing! :D

I can barely write in block capitals never mind cursive and I admire those who have the talent to do so!

@db20747 Singing? That would be a no! My singing voice is used by our local bar to clear the place when it closes!

I remember learning cursive writing in school. We had to practice and practice until every letter was perfect. I think it is sad that today's they don't learn it in school.

I learned how to write in cursive, but outside of my signature I don't really use it much these days.
