My wife had a headache

My wife doesn't take headaches often but when she does it's usually pretty severe. The thing is she won't take any pills for it. She insists on letting it run its course. I find this extraordinary. Pharmaceutical companies have spent millions and devoted years to finding safe and effective cures for things like headaches. So why won't some people use them? At the first twinge of a headache I reach for the nearest packet of pills!

My husband is like you. Thinks there is a pill for every ailment. I have trouble swallowing pills - have you seen the size of some of those things - so it's often a last resort for me.

@ThreeTeddies Ugh. Vince does too now. Luckily I don't. Occasionally I'll take a Nurofen if my back is playing up but that's about it. Oh and I have golden raisins (almost the same as sultanas) soaked in gin which is supposed to help keep arthritis at bay and if it doesn't it tastes pretty good anyway.

You sound like my husband. I have had migraines that I had to finally take a pill for but usually I am stubborn and do what your wife does. We seem to think we know ourselves better than the pharmaceutical companies.

Not giving in to pain seems to be a female thing. Us wimpy guys, on the other hand, grab any help we can get!

My husband is very resistant to taking pills for anything as well! He worries they think they know what is safe today and down the road it will be, "Ohhh we thought it was safe!" He takes things very sparingly!

He is wise to be cautious about new medicines but the older, well-established meds like aspirin are safe when taken according to instruction

@ThreeTeddies So why do you think she will not take anything when she gets a nasty headache?

Oh gosh terrible to suffer like that but some people do. Most of my family like that except for me and son we will take a headache pill.
