yes we still have land line at home, my sisters still call each other through phone. it is very practical ...

@hereandthere ours nope. we don't have a problem we just don't have internet if the power is off.

My fiber optic internet connection is bundled with a landline that is seldom or never used

@hereandthere i have not yet experienced trouble with my fiber but I think it would be less or not affected by phone trouble unlike dial up and dsl. Of course PLDT is a lined connection so if it's the line that's affected, everything is down but a lined connection is more stable than those that offer wireless.

what i don't like about it, though, is how everything is affected when there's a problem - phone, cable and internet.

We had always have a home phone for a long time. We call it land line.

Yes, I still have a home phone (landline) and, in fact, I have two (one of which came along with internet connection). Both lines are now over 20 years with us and I still find them useful in addition to the mobile phones that we have.
