Driving in the Snow

So yesterday we got about 6 inches of snow here for the morning drive and the roads were pretty bad. Now this is not unheard of here in Chicago, we have had worse and we usually get this at least once a year. You just have to take care in your driving and take it slow and be safe.
I don't mind to much driving in the snow, I just take my time. The part I don't like is when I drive all the way to work and it takes me an hour and 20 minutes to get there and about 20 minutes later I get a call from the boss and he tells me the office is closed for the day to go ahead and go home.
This same thing happened to me last year I drove all the way was about 2 blocks from work when he called me and told me. He knows what time I start and how far I live from work and he couldn't call sooner and let me know that we were going to be closed?
It took another hour and a half to get back home. Now some might say well I got most of the day off and I am getting paid for the whole day. That is not even the point, I risked driving in that and they couldn't even have the decency to call and let me know before I drove all the way to work.
I was so pissed I screamed at him on the phone and a few swear words might have came out so I'm sure I will hear about it this morning when he gets in. Honestly, I don't care, he was in the wrong in my eyes.
Hope your Monday was better than mine.
