"Major T. J. "King" Kong: Well, I've been to one world fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing I ever heard come over a set of earphones. You sure you got today's codes?
---Dr. Strangelove - 1964

Did you know that Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb is exactly three days older than I am? Probably not but you know now and that's what counts. Dr. Strangelove was released on January 29, 1964 and I was born three days later on February 2.
I didn't go see it that Sunday night because I don't rush out and see every new movie. It's a system that usually works well but it didn't work well that time. When I did finally see it, a few years later, I regretted not seeing it right away.
That's the way life goes. You win some, you lose some. But learn from my mistake. If you were born today or even three days ago, don't waste any more time. Watch Dr. Strangelove today. You probably won't find it in a theater but you can rent it or buy it or find it on TV.
TCM (Turner Classic Movies) might be showing it. Call my friend Ted and ask him---Someday, they might come up with a faster and just as accurate way to find out what's on TCM tonight but they haven't yet---I would call him myself but lately, he's started some sort of code-breaking game (Most probably because codes are mentioned in Dr. Strangelove) that he wants me to play. But he doesn't provide any instructions as to how to play. He just says, "LOOK IT UP!" and hangs up.
What does, "LOOK IT UP," mean? I have no idea and my Enigma Machine is in the shop, so I have little chance of figuring it out. And that's all I have for you today, the sum total of all the wisdom I've been able to collect on this planet in 55 years (-3 Days).
I'll close with a few more words from my friend, Major T. J. "King" Kong, which will come in handy if you're going to Vegas anytime in the near future. And this is good for everyone. Even if you weren't born today, yesterday or the day before or the day before that.
~~~
Survival kit contents check. In them you'll find: one forty-five caliber automatic; two boxes of ammunition; four days' concentrated emergency rations; one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills; one miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible; one hundred dollars in rubles; one hundred dollars in gold; nine packs of chewing gum; one issue of prophylactics; three lipsticks; three pair of nylon stockings. Shoot, a fella' could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.
Thank you, Valerie.
I forgot about NetFlix. With it, you can watch it whenever you want.
@xander6464 Yes, I can. I know my son likes it and said I would too. So, one of these days, I'll watch it.
One of the greatest comedies ever - so many classic moments and scary too, more so with DT in office
At times, it feels like they were peering into the future.
Nice try but I'm safe. Donny's going to be way too busy Tweeting about the Failing FBI for the next few weeks to bother with me.
I've never seen it. Heh heh. Looks like another one to add to the list of "stuff to watch".
Only one issue of prophylactics in that list? :/
Does that mean that my birthday is 2 days away.... yeah I guess so! Eeeeeek. Say what?
We have a lot to get through. Maybe we should add three or four more Movie Nights to our schedule.
Well, during a nuclear war, everyone has to live dangerously.
Yeah...it is getting close. Don't worry, though. I'm working on something. You know how you can repel vampires with a cross? Well, if my calculations are right, I think we can repel birthdays with cake. Birthday cake! I know it sounds odd and strange right now but if it works, soon, everyone will be having cake on their birthday. Which will no longer be their birthday because the cake will drive it away. I'll be doing more experiments tonight, I'll let you know how they turn out.
@FayeHazel I love spaghetti! And garlic bread. I've never seen Dark City but I'm up for it! Garlic does keep vampires away. I saw a documentary once called Dracula that proved it. Documentary makers don't lie. So maybe it will work for birthdays. We need to test it.
That not living next door thing is getting to be a real drag.
When it catches on, birthday cake is going to seem normal and ordinary.
@xander6464 I think we should. Hey have you ever seen "Dark City"? I was just thinking about what to watch tonight. We can have instant pot spaghetti and garlic toast, that will keep away birthdays! I mean... vampires, yeah that's it, vampires.
I forgot you aren't actually next door and probably cannot be up here for supper and a movie. Shucks.
I like your cake idea. What a thought. Birthday cake? Well, I guess there are stranger things out there.
