If Mylot was stuck in a room.

If the entirety of all active mylotters were stuck in a room together, how do you think we'd behave?
How many of us you would be in a corner chattering away?
How many of us would be in the opposite corner not saying a word?
Would you be the observer?
Or, Would you be striking up conversation and having a grand old time?
How many of us would not get along at all? There are a few members here I'd probably avoid. I'm sure you can say the same thing.
Would you expect your mylot buddies to be the same in real life? Would you be disappointed if they weren't?
Some of us have met former and current mylotters in real life. Some of us have lifelong friends because of mylot. Have you? Do You?
As for me, I'd be one of the ones in the corner quietly observing. I might strike up a conversation every once in awhile, but I'm very much introverted in real life. Don't mind me if I leave the room altogether, it's gotten rather loud and I just need some time to myself. I'll be back.
Would you follow me out?

I am shy, but there are many members that I consider great friends. I would not be in a corner saying nothing, I would be around hugging and chatting. I expect myLot buddies to be the same in real life, you can "mask" your temper writing, but not when you type comments. There are only a very few members I would avoid.

Same here, there are about three people I might avoid. One because I have seen them being rude to others when it was uncalled for. Another because I think they would probably annoy me, I avoid their discussions here because I don't find them interesting. That person has also blocked a lot of people for no apparent reason. The third person I would just have to see about.
Yes, I'd want to go around hugging and talking to people as well, but I am very introverted and would ned to get comfortable in the room. Even so, I'd need to go out of the room for a few minutes to just have some pace and quiet to myself

@LadyDuck The one I was talking about is a male. There is one woman who blocked me but she didn't mean to. he still hasn't unblocked me though.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I imagine the one who blocked many person, she also blocked me and I will never understand why. I am sure that I would also need to go out of the room time by time. I am introvert and shy.

Yes, there are so many people that I'd love to meet in person. Give a hug or a handshake and perhaps a small gift as well.

I have actually wondered about this . . . I was wondering if we'd be better off sitting at gigantic tables with laptops in front of us so we can continue interacting on myLot like we always do - only in person altogether . I don't like to be verbal, but I can be verbal - depends on the situation. But I would love to meet all the folks I've come to know here - including you - and if we were all there I would HAVE to get in everyone's face because this would probably be a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am observant, and I will notice someone that isn't chatting much - and I just might be that person who would go up to that person and make 'em talk . But I can take a "vibe" . . . if anyone wanted to be alone, I'd get it . But a one on one coffee (or the like) time would be cool.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Speed myLotting ! That would actually work out well - that way we get a chance to meet everyone (is that how speed dating works?). You must be pretty sensitive to sound . . . although I am a good listener, I don't hear that well - so I guess I can conveniently tune people out . Perhaps having great grub in the room would help too . . . that might cut down some of the chatter !

I like your idea of a couple of long tables. Perhaps it would be fun to do it like a speed dating thing. Taken ten minutes with one person and then move one seat over.Of course the noise level might be an issue, and then my attention would veer to other conversations as well. It would be hard to keep one conversation going when I'd be hearing others chattering around me.

I am an introvert as well but being in a room with other myLotters I would be curious to know who was who and I think we would all have a very good time with someone finally putting on music and we could all dance.

I think it would be nice to have a bit of a memorial service for the lotters we've lost as well. Yes, I'd need a few minutes to myself to "recharge" but I could manage a day of chatting with the lotters. Hearing different accents and different languages as well. I think if we were to meet in person, we should allow people to speak their native tongue to others who can understand it.

@ramapo17 I have friends and family that are like that. I either tune them out or wander off. I have a family member who says bye about five times before they hang up with whomever they are talking to on the phone. The conversation just keeps going.
I'm sure you'd get along with a lot of 'lotters. I'd introduce myself to a handful of people but I'd be the one in the introverts corner.

It should be held in a hotel's ballroom. That way we can all go to our rooms. Of course there'd be so many of us, we'd need to make sure there was another hotel nearby for overflow.

I would probably start with hugs for a few. Then observe.and listen. I am one of those fortunate ones who has met a few Lotters in person. I think there are groups that meet up regularly in the Phillipines.

I know you've met a few people. I met one person, she's not on mylot very often at all anymore. You remember Dawn? I met her once.
Is it bitterly cold for you? I do believe I heard that even the postal service has canceled routes in The Dakotas, Winsconsin, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri.

@MarshaMusselman I worry about thsoe who do no thave reliable heat or who need medications and aren't able to get them. I'm glad it will soon be warming up. I'm in North Carolina and we are to expect 60 degree temps in a few days. We are in the mid 30's today.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They cancelled the postal service yesterday and possible the rest of this week. I don't think those trucks are very warm anyway. It's been about -20 wind chill off and on this week with parts of Michigan getting down to -45 similar to wisconsin and other states. The actual temp this morning at ten was -10 degrees. By Monday it will be 49 degrees and warming up, so at least it won't last much longer.
I hope this colder wind chill weather doesn't affect much of Canada every year, but I don't really know about that.

Ah yes, I am a lot like you. I'm introverted for the most part but if the right person comes along and starts conversing with me I start feeling more relaxed and able to chat. I get so quiet and shy at first that people probably think I'm being rude. That's not the case at all, of course.

@ScribbledAdNauseum We could have name tags made up with either the person's actual name if they don't mind, but also with their user names and avatars used on mylot to help put the right person with the right mylotter friend.

@MarshaMusselman Adding the avatars is not a bad idea. Also the name that shows up beside the username, sometimes it is different than their username or their given name. I used to put "Escaped Reality" there until a mylotter pointed out that she didn't recognize me. Now I have my given name.

I am an introvert until I am comfortable and then I am extremely extroverted and loud. So yeah I would probably be a wallflower and normally how it is like when I am in a room with anyone, I hear a conversation I can actually make my part in and say something witty and then people start laughing. I feel like that is how I am on here, I just say something and people are just like..this chick is weird but some reason they stick around.

I can be extroverted in the right crowd, but I am much more of an introvert. My best friend and I often joke that she picked me out and said "This weirdo! I like her, we shall be friends!" That's pretty much how it happened though.
There would probably be a few mylotters I'd talk to but then I'd need to excuse myself and be alone for a bit before coming back in the room.

There are so many wonderful people on here that I would love to meet in person, you included. I am a bit on a introvert so it would take me a little while to warm up to people but once I did I would be chatting away and having a good time. So many I already feel like I know even though we have never met. There would be so many great laughs and so many good conversations going on, much the same as we do here.
If you walked out of the room, yes I would follow. It would be an opportunity to get to chat with you without all the noise that would be going on inside with everybody mingling.

There are so many wonderful people here. So many kind people as well, and plenty of us who have had similar experiences in life. I can be extroverted, and I might surprise myself and be one of he most social butterflies in the room, but I think I'd still need a few minutes out on a balcony somewhere. Yes, it'd be ncie to have a quiet conversation away from the crowd for a moment or two.
I also think this would be an excellent opportunity to sample some foods that our friends here eat all the time. I have talked to a few here who have eat or drank foods from the US but can not get them in their country because of price or availability. I would probably bring them some of those items so that they can take them back to their country or enjoy them while at the gathering.

There are some mylotters that are rarely here anymore that I'd like to attend a mylot party anyhow. Yes, I think the room would need to be large to hold us all, but we'd need a quiet corner for those of us who need a few minutes to ourselves.A quiet conversation in that corner would be nice though.
