A Small Circle of Friends

In life, I have a small circle of really great friends and then lots of nice people that I like just fine, but am not close enough to call friends. I think a friend has to be someone you can trust and let your guard down with a bit. They cheer for your success and support you when you're down and out. You know if your name comes up around them that they will say something kind and genuine about you. You do the same... I keep my circle small because true friendships take work and dedication. It's not that I'm unfriendly, as a matter of fact, I'm friendly to just about everyone, but I don't share everything with everyone. Do you feel similarly or have another way of maintaining quality friendships?

I have a handful of friends that I know I can always get in touch with and they will always be glad to hear from me. Those are the friends I have known all my life. I am also grateful for the many online friends I have some of which I have known for many years and always enjoy catching up with what they are doing since they are all over the Internet.

Isn't it nice to be able to rely on people like that?

I share the same sentiment. And yes I have a lot of acquaintances that are lovely people but I will always have my constants in life and I think I can just count them with my fingers.

Yes, I like the way you say, 'constants' as that is exactly how I feel too!
