My taste for Indie music is fairly new. Indie music stands for the "independent music labels". It is more than that however. The genre of music is different and less mainstream than other artists. I first started getting into the scene by listening to death cab for cutie and the postal service, along with modest mouse. Now I realize these bands are much more mainstream than my new and currents tastes. An incredible website www.last.fm has introduced me to new bands based on my tastes time and time again. The system records what you listen to on your computer and reports it back to the website. This allows it to make suggestions based on your tastes. I highly recommend this site to any music lover.
