The oil prices during 1998

I am playing the remake of the 1998 game Resident evil 2. It is my favorite game of all time so when the remake is announced, I pre-ordered.
The remake is still set in 1998 even it's released in 2019.
While playing the game and controlling the character at a Gasoline station, I saw the oil prices during 1998. I want to cry, it is much more cheaper back then.
I remember my parents complaining about oil prices back then but compare those prices to the current prices.... Inflation is such an evil thing.

Dang, those were the days..I can remember when 911 happened the gas prices dropped to .99 at the gas stations in my town.

Imagine people from 1998 are complaining about inflation but they never expected it will get worst.

@CaptAlbertWhisker nope never! But the gas isn't too bad here right now. 2.19 a gallon..I'm not going to complain well not to much lol.

The demand for gas was just way too high even back in 1998. I bet if they go back in time, they would do their best to save money.

I want to have a tesla or a nissan leaf.I don't do road trips anyway. So electric cars can work for me.
