Why Every Job Matters!

I am a believer that every single job matters. I am also a believer that some of the hardest and most important jobs receive the least amount of money and benefits. I cringe when I hear people say, "Oh they just do this or that..." referring to a type of job. Think about an entire job not getting done, any job! So, maybe fast food becomes nonexistent because there is nobody to do that job! Think it's not a big deal? What about when people in the hospital need a warm coffee or someone traveling on a limited budget needs a quick sandwich and a restroom stop? If there weren't people to do the jobs, this might not be possible! The same applies to any job..anywhere! We need people doing these jobs and I for one try to remember and be thankful that someone, somewhere is willing and able to do every job. Just a thought! I heard someone today kind of put down someone doing a certain kind of job and thought..."Ummm No!! Not OK!"

That's a very good thought and so true. All jobs are important. I cringe to think that robots will take the jobs away from so many people some day.

It is a real worry! I was chatting the other day with my nephews about this very thing!

I hear people say that about certain jobs too and it irks me. All jobs are important or they wouldn't be a need for it.

I agree with you. You could not have said it better. Every single job is valuable! What about the cleaning people, who always take care of cleaning the floors we step, or even the restrooms we use! I think not all the people thank them for doing it, I know they're doing their job as many people claim, but not everybody wants to do it, and they're willing to. We have to be more humble in life, because we're all the same.

The young man that cleans my work area every day is the best! We have a great working relationship and I appreciate him greatly! I only hope I tell him enough!

I haven't had many jobs until now, but each one of them made me learn something new and also allowed me the chance to meet people who are my friends.

I hate when people think that just because we don't earn the same wages that one job is more important than the other. Artists matter, service workers matter, business people matter, every single job out there really does matter. Just imagine how boring the world would be if artists did not exist? Think how sick the world would be if custodial people do not exist? I am proud of anyone who is able to get a job these days, because at least they are working and doing their part being a normal functional citizen. And people who think they are better because their wage is higher for the little work they do, they are sad sad people and they have to live with themselves and that is the hardest job of all.

Yes, that was my thought when I posted. I work with amazing people that work so hard and we all make varying amounts of money, but all of our jobs are so important.

I agree. My husband just resigned from his management posistion to start waitoring again. I can already hear the judgemental comments coming, but he is swallowing his pride in attempt to bring in more money.
