Does anyone use a fanny pack?

I used to use them all the time but in winter it is just too hard to use. I would have to unzip or open my coat and get at what was inside. Now, I have a small over the shoulder bag that works so much better. I can get into things better now. If you do not know what a fanny pack is it is something you wear around your waste and put money and keys and other things inside and use that and not carry a purse. It is not really easy to use it so I stopped buying them and using them. I only use on our Holidays when I go to the Synagogue so do not carry things in my hand. I put my keys in and some tissue and something else but no money because we are not suppose to use money. Thank you.

I used one a long time ago when they were the fad. It didn't last long as I really didn't like it.

@just4him I understand what you are saying. I decided not to use mine on a regular basis and instead use an over the shoulder bag so I can get inside and get things out easier.

Isn't it funny? Fanny packs are called bum bags here although they are exactly the same thing. Using the term 'fanny pack' would be considered a bit rude in Australia.

@JudyEv I have found that many places or countries or cities in the United States have different words for something. I used to call mine a pouch but then I think I read you wrote about fanny packs so started saying that instead of a pouch.

@ThreeTeddies Yes, you don't want to mess with the CWA. They had lamington drives until they managed to get Hell air-conditioned!

@JudyEv Rude! You'd be thrown out of the CWA for using that word!

@jstory07 I can see that. If I did not have to wear a coat then it was no problem wearing it. In winter unzipping the coat to get into it was a problem for me. Replacing them and finding the right one was also a problem. So gave it up and like my over the shoulder bag I use now.

@Marilynda1225 Can you take a picture of the small purse so we can see it? If not, that is ok. Is it comfortable when you put it there? Is it hard to get into it to get things you need? I stopped using fanny packs because it was hard to get into them in winter and when i had to wear a coat over it so now I just use my over the shoulder bag on the outside and like it much better.

About 10 years ago, a family member loaned me one to use on a vacation. I'd never used one before. I found it to be awkward. It was easier to use my purse as I had been for many years.

I do not use a fanny pack and have never used a fanny pack, but I do know people who do use fanny packs, and they all look like idiots.

The only time I use one is when I go hiking on my local hills in summertime. I like to go lightweight at that time of year when all the cold weather gear isn't needed

@ThreeTeddies That makes sense. I understand when you go hiking you want to not carry a lot of things so that would work out good by using a fanny pack or pouch or whatever you want to call it.
