Have you ever been part of or contributed to a crowdfunding campaign?

I would even include a gofundme effort as part of this. The intent is to join a campaign as a participant, or as a backer. Have you ever done that? There are risks with Crowdfunding, sometimes campaigns don't work out. But sometimes they do. It is an interesting ride. Have you ever been on one or part of one?

I gave money to a fund for a myLotter who needs surgery. She is on dialysis and needs surgery to do with that but it's not for an actual transplant. As far as I know, she hasn't raised the amount she needs.

That is one of the problems of crowdfunding - what was your experience like?

@DocAndersen Well, I donated some money but she didn't get enough for what she needed. I guess the money is still sitting there. I'm happy for it to be used in some way, whether for the original purpose of not. She is having a very tough time of it.

@JudyEv It is very hard when it comes to Gofundme. The people you are trying to help there are often in dire need. Normally the site doesn't charge you until the funding is complete.

I have read about it. I know about the go fund me as most of those on YouTube are always asking for viewer support through go-fund-me or their Patreon.

@DocAndersen , It can be abused and it is often hard to know which ones really need support and which ones are playing games.

@lookatdesktop That has become a significant problem, the innocent intent of the site was to help people. The reality is some people seek avenues to abuse people.

I am raising money. But I don’t know where to do something wrong. No one wants to help, so sad
