Is it good to have unmanned railway crossings?

We have seen so many mishaps taking place at the railway crossings at present. Sometimes a speeding train rams against a lorry or bus carrying commuters. And the end result? Most of these accidents happen due to unmanned railway crossings. I think its time for the authorities to focus on this particular aspect. What do you think guys?
