I used to watch Duck Dynasty with my husband, and I did like it at first. But then I read and heard about the religious and moral views of the patriarch of the family Phil Robertson. He is an incredibly homophobic man, and now it comes out that he doesn't believe there is a need for healthcare, that it is only a "temporary reprieve" that doctors provide. My mind is just boggled at how stupid this man is, and also how hypocritical since he has a Granddaughter who had to have multiple surgeries to fix a cleft palate . What do you all think about this ?
Because we watch Trumpland TV so you don’t have to, today we watched Duck Dynasty emperor Phil Robertson poo-poo the idea of government-provided health care because, in his estimation, there is no need for medical services in the physical world. After all,

I don't do extensive research on everyone and everything before I decide whether I like it or not. My favorite musicians include Jews (Steve Goodman), evangelicals (Ricky Skaggs), Buddhists (Tina Turner), Muslims (Richard Thompson), Hindus (George Harrison), and atheists (R.E.M.) I don't like Ted Nugent because I think his music sucks, not because of his political beliefs. I'd hate to think what would happen if I threw everything out that disagreed with my personal opinions.
I'd like to think that, in America, he's entitled to his opinion, no matter how ridiculous you or I might think it is.

I do think that he is entitled to his own opinion, and I didn't research him, the kind of views he has have gotten a lot of attention and so that's why I even heard about it. He is entitled to those views, but I think that if he continues to go on television and express them, he also needs to be prepared for some backlash.

@spicysweetie21 — oh, I agree. Anytime a person exercises his/her right to free speech he/she subjects him/herself to criticism, ecause someone isn’t going to like what was said.
