Son’s birthday and he’s not here

The son

He’s actually 29, lives away from me, went to Fiji and having the time of his life. I don’t mind not spending so much time with my adult kids, for as long as they are happy. At the end of the day, we don’t own them, we are here to nurture them till they can be self sufficient. The sooner the better, I believe. Happy birthday, son!

And Happy Birthday from me too. Kids aren't meant to stay at home once they get to a certain age. At least that's my belief.

Thank you! Apologies for the late response on your comment. I just started blogging now. I believe that children need to spread their wings once they are confident and self sufficient. I wait for them to advise me so, as they may not be ready yet when I set the age of 18 or 21, maybe.

Sounds like your son is doing really well. I always thought my children didn't ask to be born. I had brought them into this world and they deserved the best I could give them--for about 18 years. And then I wanted them to be ready to go out into the world and make it on their own.

I guess the social media has something to do with their choice to see the world.

I think that is a very healthy way of looking at it.

Thanks, dear. When they became adults, I say my opinion to them rather than preach.. they don’t listen anyway.

This makes me sad. I too one day will have to let my babies go out into the world on their own..it seems so distant but I know it will happen in the blink of an eye. I hope my children still want to come see me and spend time with me. I will not know what to do without them, I have devoted my whole life to my 6 children.
