It's raining positivity around here :)

This morning my children and I had a rough start. I started the day out in a rather grumpy mood and was a little bit careless about how I was effecting others emotions around me. I always feel horrible after I do this and I am diligently working toward changing this bad habit of mine. (we all have nasty little habits..unfortunately this is one of mine) There were just things going on with our electricity and for some reason some of the lights in our home would not work, I was mean to my husband and lost my cool and I was also grumpy toward my poor babies. After reflecting over those things that happened today I thought this would be a good prompt to talk about a little bit this evening before I decide to go to sleep. Some questions I could ask myself, to encourage being positive are … 1. Why are you reacting this way, anger is a secondary emotion so what are you truly feeling. 2. How is this helping the situation you are currently in? 3. Is your anger/frustration solving anything? 4. How could you handle this in a calmer manner? 5. Is this problem you are upset about something you can control? 6. Is it something you can fix? 7. What steps do you need to take to fix the issue quickly. 8. If you get upset or angry will this issue matter tomorrow, next week, in a year? 9. Why are you so upset about this issue? 10. Stop and take a few breaths before reaction. Just pause, think, then act. Have you lost your cool this week over a situation that seemed more important than it really turned out to be? How could you have handeled it differently? Do you have advice for people who are still working towards changing their life into positive mindsets?

Hello, ma'am @BridgetThompson ! It's good that you thought of a way to somehow lessen those negative vibes. Personally, I believe that we have a choice on how to deal with situations whether they are good or bad. Unfortunately, the time between choosing how to react is becoming lesser and lesser because we chose to be motivated by our feelings. I'm not perfect and there are times that I can't control some situations. I think it is a good idea to pause for a while, gather your thoughts, don't let a single word just yet, and breath.

If you realize your mistake then it is easy for you to change it. Best of luck to you.
