Few performers can command a fanatical loyal following like Morrissey formerly of the Smiths. He is not a commercial performer nor instantly recognizable name but decades later after the Smiths, Morrissey can sell out a major venue. The Smiths are an iconic revered 80s alternative group whose snubbing by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is absurd and embarrassing. You could describe the Smith and Morrissey as purveyors of somber gloom and downright strange at times. “Oh yes, you can kick me and you can can punch me And you can break my face, but you won’t change the way I fell Cause I love you” How is that for a brutal masochistic love song that has a creepy stalker feel. From the album “Louder Than Bombs,” “It It Really So Strange” was written by Morrissey and Johnny Marr and single B side to “Sheila Take a Bow.” The song is title to a 2004 documentary with Morrissey.
